Children were provided craft supplies (glues, crayons, stickers, scissors, glitter, etc.) to decorate a leaf pattern in their own creative way. A small ribbon was attached at the tip of the leaves and they were encouraged to hang their leaves on a door in their homes and to save and hang them on their Christmas trees.
During crafting candy was passed out and after they completed their crafts each child was encouraged to select a free/slightly used Christian themed book. A total of 23 books were given away (unfortunately, we didn't have enough to distribute to the 50+ kids we served). Special thanks to our teens, adult volunteer, and the Springfield Baptist Church for allowing us to serve. We are look forward to participating in future events. |
